CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

BEST TOURISM SOUVENIRS (NON-FOOD)

  • Cultural Significance (25%)
    The extent to which the gift or souvenir represents and embodies the cultural heritage and traditions of the Philippines. This criterion evaluates the authenticity and cultural relevance of the item.
  • Craftsmanship and Quality (20%)
    The level of skill and artistry demonstrated in the creation of the gift or souvenir. This criterion considers the quality of materials used, attention to detail, and the overall craftsmanship of the item.
  • Innovation and Creativity (20%)
    The degree of originality, innovation, and creativity exhibited in the design and concept of the gift or souvenir. This criterion rewards unique and fresh ideas that push boundaries while still maintaining cultural integrity.
  • Marketability and Appeal (15%)
    The potential commercial value and appeal of the gift or souvenir to tourists and visitors. This criterion assesses the item’s attractiveness, desirability, and market demand, considering factors such as aesthetics, functionality, and relevance to contemporary tastes.
  • Sustainability and Ethical Production (10%)
    The environmental and social sustainability of the gift or souvenir. This criterion evaluates the use of sustainable materials, eco-friendly production processes, fair trade practices, and support for local communities.
  • Packaging and Presentation (10%)
    The quality and effectiveness of the packaging and presentation of the gift or souvenir. This criterion examines the visual appeal, durability, and functionality of the packaging, as well as how well it enhances the overall presentation of the item.

Note: NON-FOOD SOUVENIR ITEMS should be either from a communitybased or commercially available PROVIDED that the item is available and made from the exact local government unit. All entries should mail sample non-food items to ATOP National Office (on or before JULY 15, 2025):
